About the collection of contact data for the munch

Our hosts sees the delicate nature of our munch, and therefore also nicknames as fetlife profile names are allowed. Just make sure, that the phone number is accurate (and you remember what nickname you used!). Real names are still prefered but not required. I don't like it either... but at least I want to be as transparent about the process as possible.

Here you find the current regulations from the BAG: Erlaeuterungen_COVID-19-Verordnung_2_8_Juni.pdf

Our host is a restaurant and applies currently the following security concept: GastroSuisse Konzept
So far, it's not mandatory to give the restaurant your personal information upon a restaurant visit if you are a group of less than 5 people. For bigger groups, the organizer has to have a guestlist. This guestlist will not be handed over to the restaurant, our host has only my personal information and even in case of an incident, the list would only go to the government.

Concerning the collection itself: I tried to apply as many recommendation as possible as described in Leitfaden für die Bearbeitung von Personendaten im privaten Bereich namely:

  • I only collect the data I'm required (as by the gastrosuisse concept)
  • I only use the data for the very specific purpose (you'll have to probably do the same sh*t again in two weeks). Means, I won't use it for newsletters, mailing lists or whatever.
  • I inform you that I collect this data (and why)
  • You can always tell me to edit your data or request to see, what you've entered.
  • I protect your data and limit the access to it (SSL protected transfers, strong passwords, state of the art encryption).
A regular visitor of the munch, punkwithrope on FL, provided us with a cryptographic strong solution which we adapted and host now on our own servers. No google forms anymore. Cleartext is encrypted within your browser and only this encrypted data is transfered and stored on our servers where also this website is hosted. (E.g. on Firefox you can check this by browsing to our registration site, then hitting F12 and then see the Network tab when you press "Submit".

And as always, I'm open for inputs to improve things :)
